Passport to Europe
Hey Guys!
In honor of throw back Thursday, I thought I would share my favorite adventure so far!
I had the opportunity to go to to Europe for a study tour through my University. It was such a great experience getting to go with an amazing group of people & friends. There wasn't a moment that I didn't love...well, besides walking with blisters everyday BUT it was totally worth it. I wish I could share all the pictures and stories with you but then, you would be reading for hours. I'll let the photos do the talking! Enjoy.
Our Itinerary consisted of visiting:
- Florence, Italy
-Paris, France
-London, England
FLORENCE, ITALY
Out of all three, Florence was probably my favorite. Such a gorgeous old-world city. There are no subway systems like Paris or London so we walked everywhere (an average of 9 miles per day). I think that's the best way to be fully immersed in the city though. I basically ate all the pasta & gelato and gained no weight so I wan't complaining too much. The food exceeding my every expectation. Everything is fresh, natural and hand-made. We saw, we ate, we walked, we laughed, and ate a little more. I can't wait to come back!
Some of the places we visited:
Duomo
Ponte Vecchio
Botegga Floretina
The Academmia
The original Salvatore Ferragamo Store
and many many restaurants
Duomo di Firenze- The main church in Florance. It was begun in 1296. Gothic style architecture.
PARIS, FRANCE
Paris is always a good idea. It's full of breath-taking views & thrills. The cafes are picture perfect and can we talk about Paris fashion? Some of the highlights Paris was the art, architecture & shopping. I got to see my favorite collection of lily pads by Claude Monet and visited THE Chanel. When in Paris do as the Parisians do right? So I ate snails. Not something I would like to try again but i'm glad I tried it. BUT I would eat the snails again over the foie gras (Duck liver).
Someday, I'll be back!
Some places we visited:
Sainte Chapelle
Notre Dame
Ile Saint Louis
La Sorbonne
The Pantheon & the Bloulevard St. German
Luxembourg Gardens
Montparnasse
Eiffel Tower (of course)
Palace of Versailles
...the list goes on!!
Over the last six years, as the Musée de l'Orangerie underwent a $36 million renovation and expansion, its most valued treasure, the eight tranquil paintings of Monet's large-format waterlily series
LONDON, ENGLAND
London, the most modern cities we visited. There are thousands of reasons to love London. It's THE cooler-than-cool city. I feel like it's the city that you can spend a lifetime exploring and you would never stop being surprised. THE FOOD. We went to different gastro-pubs because I mean, you have to. British food is definitely not for the calorie conscious. My favorite memory was having afternoon tea at Kensington Palace. Now, I'm hooked!
